Frequently asked questions
I'm a Multicultural Integrative Psychotherapist supporting individuals and couples — including high-achieving professionals — who are navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I work with clients aged 18 to 70+ from diverse cultural, ethnic, and personal backgrounds, both online and in person in Bedford.
It means I don't work from a single fixed model. Instead, I draw on a range of evidence-based and experiential approaches — including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic, Transpersonal, and Christian counselling where relevant — and tailor the combination to what you specifically need. Therapy with me isn't about fitting into a script; it's built around you, your history, your culture, and what you're carrying right now.
The first session is a paid consultation where we take the time to understand your story, what's brought you to therapy, and what you're hoping will be different. If you decide to go ahead and work with me, your first full session will be 1 hour instead of 45 minutes — so you recoup the cost of the consultation.
Common reasons clients come to me include trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse recovery, and life transitions. If you're functioning well on the surface but struggling privately underneath, that's exactly the kind of thing therapy can help with too — you don't need to be in crisis to start.
My approach is shaped as much by lived experience as by training. I spent over 25 years working across the corporate world before becoming a therapist — performing under pressure while quietly carrying my own experiences of trauma. I call myself a wounded healer for that reason. I understand, personally, what it's like to function well outwardly while struggling internally — and that understanding shapes the safe, non-judgemental space I try to create for every client.
